Every Shark Tank Deal Over $500K
The complete list of half-million-dollar-plus checks written on air, who wrote them, and what they bought.
The average Shark Tank deal lands somewhere well under $300,000, which is a perfectly respectable sum that nobody at home ever remembers. What sticks in your brain is the other kind of pitch. The one where a founder asks for a number so large that Kevin O'Leary visibly recalculates his entire afternoon, and a shark actually writes a check that starts with a comma. There have been 162 of those deals, every one of them half a million dollars or more, and they tell a very different story about the show than the cute kitchen gadgets do.
These are the moments where the Tank stops being a charming inventor showcase and turns into something closer to actual venture capital, with all the ego and second-guessing that implies. Big checks mean big convictions, and big convictions made on national television are a genuinely fun thing to watch age over the following seasons. Some of these companies soared, some quietly vanished, and the founders who landed them all share one trait: they made a shark believe a comma-sized number was a bargain.
The One That Towers Over Everything
At the very top of the pile sits AirCar, which pulled $5,000,000 out of Robert Herjavec in Season 6. That is not a typo and it is not a rounding error. It is a single shark deciding, on camera, to part with five million dollars, a figure that would comfortably fund roughly seventeen of the show's average deals with money left over for a sandwich.
Herjavec clearly has a taste for the heavyweight division, because the second-biggest check on the list is also his. SynDaver Labs took $3,000,000 from him, again in Season 6, which makes that one season weirdly responsible for two of the largest swings in the show's history. If you ever wondered whether a single shark could carry the title for biggest spender in a category, Season 6 Robert is your answer.
When the Number Gets Suspiciously Round
Daymond John matched the $3,000,000 mark with Moki Doorstep back in Season 10, and Kevin O'Leary, never one to be left out of a dramatic figure, put up $2,500,000 for Zipz in Season 6. There is something almost theatrical about how clean these numbers are. Nobody negotiates their way to exactly two and a half million by accident. These are pitches where the founder walked in already swinging for a headline, and the shark decided to swing back.
Then comes the only deal in the upper tier where the sharks teamed up rather than going solo. D Best Products landed $2,350,000 from both Mark Cuban and Lori Greiner in Season 8, the rare case where two of the show's most prolific investors looked at the same company and both reached for their wallets at once. When Cuban and Greiner agree on something at that price point, it tends to mean the math was genuinely hard to argue with.
Rounding out the visible heavy hitters is Ten Thirty One Productions, which took $2,000,000 from Mark Cuban in Season 5. A two-million-dollar check for a haunted attraction business is exactly the kind of swing that makes Shark Tank more interesting than a straight infomercial. Cuban going alone on that one fits his reputation as the Tank's biggest spender, the guy most likely to decide quickly and commit completely.
Why the Big Checks Matter More Than the Small Ones
Here is the thing about a list of 162 deals over $500,000. It quietly rewrites the assumption a lot of viewers carry around, which is that Shark Tank is mostly about scrappy founders getting a modest leg up. Plenty of it is. But a check that starts at half a million and climbs to five is not a leg up. It is a partnership where the shark now has real money on the line and a very real reason to pay attention after the cameras stop rolling.
It also reveals how much personality drives these decisions. Herjavec owns the top two outright. Cuban shows up again and again on the solo high-roller deals. O'Leary swoops in for the clean, dramatic figures that look great on a chyron. Watch enough of these and the panel stops feeling like five interchangeable rich people and starts looking like five distinct gamblers with very different appetites for risk. The small deals are where the show is comfortable and predictable. The big ones are where it gets honest about what kind of money is actually in the room, and which sharks are willing to put it down without flinching. That is the version of Shark Tank worth studying.
