Is Lumio Still in Business? (2026 Update)
Is Lumio from Shark Tank still around in 2026? The deal it made, the sharks who invested, and where to buy Lumio today.
Few Shark Tank pitches caused as much chaos as Lumio, the lamp that unfolds like a book. The sharks fought over it, a deal was struck on the spot, and then the partnership quietly fell apart. The good news is the brand kept glowing anyway. Here is the 2026 update.
The Short Answer
Yes, Lumio is still in business in 2026 and remains a healthy, design-driven company. It pulls in somewhere around $4 million to $5 million in annual revenue and continues to release new products.
The twist is that the famous deal with Robert Herjavec never actually closed. Founder Max Gunawan built the company into a lasting success without it.
The Pitch and the Deal
Lumio appeared in Season 6, Episode 15, out of San Francisco. Max Gunawan demonstrated a portable LED lamp shaped like a hardcover book that folds open to throw off warm, ambient light and can hang, stand, or magnetically attach to surfaces.
He came in asking for $250,000 for 8 percent of the company. The design wowed the room and set off a bidding scramble. Robert Herjavec reworked his offer to $350,000 for 10 percent equity, and Max accepted it right there on the spot.
After the cameras stopped, though, the deal was never finalized. Lumio moved forward independently.
Where It Is Now
Walking away from Herjavec did not hurt the brand. Lumio has reached new revenue highs over the years, reportedly clearing $4 million annually after the show and sitting around $5 million more recently.
The product line has grown well beyond the original book lamp. The full-size version is now called the Lito, available as the Lito Classic, the Lito Mini, and limited-edition styles featuring unique artwork. The company also launched the Teno, a sculptural Bluetooth speaker and lamp controlled by intuitive touch gestures.
Lumio has built relationships with hundreds of retailers worldwide, including design shops, lighting specialists like Lightology, and a number of museum stores. The most dependable place to shop the current range is the official Lumio website. Amazon listings have appeared over time, though stock there can be inconsistent, so the brand's own store is your safest bet.
The Bottom Line
Lumio proves that a Shark Tank handshake is not the whole story. Even though the Robert Herjavec deal never closed, Max Gunawan turned a clever folding lamp into a durable design brand with a real product lineup and worldwide retail reach.
If you loved that book-shaped lamp, you can still buy it in 2026, just under the Lito name, alongside a growing family of beautifully designed lighting and audio pieces.
