Brian Spencer walked into the Tank in Season 2, Episode 2 in the episode that aired March 25, 2011, bringing their Mission Viejo, CA business with them. Vurtego, the toys and games, pitched in the Sports & Outdoors category, one of 154 sports & outdoors businesses to brave the Tank across all 17 seasons.

On the carpet, the number was $500,000 for a 20% stake, which valued the company at $2.5M.

The sharks passed, and Vurtego left without a deal. That's not always the end of the story. Some of Shark Tank's most successful companies were rejected on air and grew anyway, using the exposure (the "Shark Tank effect") to drive sales the sharks missed out on.

Vurtego was one of 36 businesses to pitch in Season 2, where 19 deals got done. In the Sports & Outdoors category overall, roughly 64% of pitches have landed a shark across the show's history.
