Everything to know about Loli-Med
A different presentation for an oral syringe
Loli-Med’s lollipop-style head attaches to a compatible oral syringe so a caregiver can deliver liquid medicine through it. Founders Ekhlas Khalaf and Crystal Naoum are both pharmacists with PharmD degrees.
The company markets strawberry, orange and blueberry options. The familiar appearance calls for a clear boundary: Loli-Med is a medicine-administration device, not ordinary candy or a toy.
Capacity does not determine the dose
The included syringe has a 10 mL capacity. That describes how much it can hold; it does not tell you how much medicine a child should receive. Follow the medicine’s prescription or label for the dose.
Ask a pharmacist whether the device is suitable for the medicine and child before using it. A different delivery format does not change the medicine’s directions, and the dispenser should not be assumed compatible with every oral medication.
Plan around single use
The manufacturer’s instructions require adult supervision, oral use only and disposal after use. They also say not to use a damaged device. Read the full instructions before the first use so the assembly is familiar before medicine is involved.
Single use affects how many dispensers you will need. The current three-pack supplies three individual devices to discard after use. Keep the packaging and instructions available for the supervising adult.
