Maurice and Miles Huffman before the show

Maurice Huffman and his son Miles brought Storm Bag to Season 15, Episode 2, which aired October 6, 2023. Their story included rebuilding after the 2018 Camp Fire in Paradise, California.

In an October 26, 2023 KRCR interview, Maurice said he had invented the product more than a decade earlier. He and Miles operated Swiss Link in Chico after losing their homes and business in the fire. Storm Bag had been a side product until Miles posted a demonstration online. Buying bags or an entryway kit

The current catalog lists loose packs of 10, 25 and 250 bags, plus kits for single doors, double doors and garages. The single-door kit contains five bags, a 6-by-10-foot plastic sheet, duct tape and a box cutter. The manufacturer lists that kit for an opening up to 4 feet wide and 8 feet tall.

Measure your opening and compare the kit's stated coverage before buying. Bags alone and a kit have different contents, so include the sheeting and other installation materials in the comparison.

Freshwater activation is an important limit: StormBag's FAQ says the polymer does not activate properly in salt water.
