Jim Pittman walked into the Tank in Season 3, Episode 13 in the episode that aired May 4, 2012, bringing their La Mirada, CA business with them. AirBedz, the furniture, pitched in the Travel category, one of 11 travel businesses to brave the Tank across all 17 seasons.

On the carpet, the number was $250,000 for a 15% stake, which valued the company at $1.7M.

The sharks passed, and AirBedz left without a deal. That's not always the end of the story. Some of Shark Tank's most successful companies were rejected on air and grew anyway, using the exposure (the "Shark Tank effect") to drive sales the sharks missed out on.

AirBedz was one of 60 businesses to pitch in Season 3, where 28 deals got done. In the Travel category overall, roughly 45% of pitches have landed a shark across the show's history.
